    There is only so much that we can tell you about the stunning locations you can find along the Portuguese and Spanish coast line and the best way to buy a home overseas is during one of our specially subsidized Property Inspection Trips. All are tailor-made to suit your personal requirements. The inspection is a two, three or four day information and viewing trip where you will see property for sale within your price range.     Here are some useful tips to keep in mind when looking for the house of your dreams:

    View the properties as soon as possible. Leave it too long and you could lose out.
    If two of you are buying together, decide who will be the chief viewer, and weed out all but the strongest candidates... and Don't be afraid to make a second or 3rd visit it can be amazing what you missed the first time

    Proof of the Algarve’s popularity with British buyers is the recent success of Ideal Homes Portugal at the UK’s largest overseas property exhibition, A Place in the Sun Live, held in Birmingham at the end of September.
    Said Chris White, director of Ideal Homes Portugal, which were prominent within the exhibition’s dedicated Portuguese Pavilion: “Our target for the weekend of A Place in the Sun Live was to arrange for ten people to book inspection trips with us. We ended the event with 14 people confirming to come and see us at our office in Albufeira.”

  • Foreigners to bring boost to Portugal's property market

    Home ownership in Portugal is now especially appealing to wealthy foreigners thanks to the introduction of a new law making it possible for non-EU citizens to get residency there through investing in property.

    The new immigration law, dubbed the “Golden passport”, came into effect this month (October) and enables citizens of countries outside of the European Union to obtain Portuguese residency through property ownership, so long as the minimum acquisition value is €500,000 (around £403K or $645K).

    The Algarve is soon to celebrate the inauguration of its 30th five-star retreat when the Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago opens its doors in coming weeks. At least seven more five-star developments are in the pipeline, three of which are planned to open next year, representing a minimum investment of €756 million in the region.Describing itself as “one of the most modern, stylish 5 star hotels in the Algarve”, the Conrad Algarve is in good company when it comes to exclusive hideaways.
