&lt;p&gt;The days of having to pack your suitcase with your favourite tea bags and other home comforts came to end when new store &quot;The Food Co.&quot; opening in Almancil. Offering a wide selection of British products, shoppers are now able to get everything they miss from home right here in the Algarve.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Of course, we love living in Portugal and embrace everything this wonderful country has to offer - including the mouthwatering Piri Piri chicken, flaky custard tarts (Pastel de Nata), abundant seafood and the juiciest oranges ever!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But despite all of these amazing food offerings, there are still a few staples of British food that us expats miss, and this is why we love the 7,500 British and Tesco branded products available.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So whether you&#39;re on holiday in the Algarve, have a house here that you escape to every now and then, or live here permanently, there are some British home comforts that make life just a little bit sweeter and easier (this is especially true if your kids only like one specific brand of baked beans!)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A quick straw poll of our team concluded that the top products we crave are crumpets, cheese and onion pasties and smoky bacon and, as you&#39;re never far from a branch of Tesco in the UK, we know exactly which products we&#39;re always hoping to find. It&#39;s great to browse the shelves of The Food Co. and save on the extra baggage charges from weighing our cases down with tinned soup and malt loaf!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You&#39;ll often find Ideal Homes staff in the aisles of the store in Avenida Duarte Pacheco, Almancil, stocking up on all of our favourite British goodies, so we&#39;ll see you there!&lt;/p&gt;
